Turkey

I like turkey and eat it pretty much all year. I like roast turkey with mashed potatoes, gravy, and cornbread dressing, but I also like to get turkey from the deli counter.

Even though I like deli turkey, I'm picky about it. It can't look all chopped and formed, and it should be smoked or flavored with honey or maple. I've cut back on it somewhat because of the nitrites and sodium but haven't given it up completely.

Deli turkey is the basis for some great sandwiches. There are many different combinations, but grilled smoked turkey and cheddar is one of my favorites.

If I roast a turkey, I might make a sandwich or two out of it, but mostly, I prefer to have it on my plate with all the trimmings.

Do you know I wouldn't have thought you could write a post on turkey but you have done a brilliant job here!

Thank you! It wasn't what I set out to write about, but it's what I ultimately decided to do.

My favourite Christmas dinner is still a traditional roast turkey with all of the trimmings. But it has to be shared with family!

I actually love the oven-roasted turkey breast that I get at the deli counter. I buy a brand that has lower sodium. We eat it almost every day for lunch! I keep promising myself that when a holiday rolls around, I will buy more than one turkey and freeze the other to have in the summer! Maybe this year I will!!!

Turkey was always my favorite sandwich before I became a vegetarian.

Oven roasted, sliced extremely thin for me! A sandwich on a good bread! And the "like Thanksgiving" turkey -- I can eat it year round!

I'll pass on the turkey but my husband loves it.

I love turkey, too!

It is terrific in so many dishes. My husband has a rotisserie on his BBQ and it is one of my favorite flavors.

I agree with you! Turkey is terrific!

Thanks for linking up.
